Have you ever had a bad day at work or school and then walked through your front door to be greeted by a smiling, jumping, wiggling fur ball? you know that feeling of just go away i don't feel like being mauled right now? and the look in their eyes that changes your mind... The "I've missed you all day, I've been waiting by the door" look... ... now think about your dog in a tiny wire kennel 24 hours a day the feeling of hopelessness they would have, how lost they would be...


Now think about the dogs that have never had that... the ones that have been hurt since they can remember... the ones who have been left in the cold, no food, no water, no one to look forward to seeing... Haus the rottweiler, so starved, for food and attention he couldn't even walk straight... the muscles in his hind end are so far gone he still doesn't walk like a regal rotty should. He never will...



It's been a ruff day, watching these heartbroken dogs look at people longingly wanting them to stop, begging them to look one more time... My boss swears it never gets any easier... but it can't get any harder, I've never in my life seen so much pain in one small space as I did today, they all love every single person that entered the 50x50 foot dog town and yet only 4 people returned that love. How wonderful, 4 found homes but the others didn't for every one that goes home... there's 12 more waiting... It's been a ruff day. I'd take them all home every last separation anxiety, sick, troubled, sad, miserable, and lonely mutt or purebred... Someday, somehow...
